French Impressions

Watch and discuss french movies with film expert Jon Davies in West London’s leading independent cinema. French Impressions is an opportunity for those interested in film, especially French film, to watch a movie and talk about it in a discussion led by our resident French film expert, Jon Davies.

The French Impressions programme takes place at Watermans once a month, see below for the latest films in the season and visit our cinema Special Events for more opportunities to enjoy international cinema screenings and enjoy independent films in West London.

Jon Davies has been presenting Watermans’ popular French cinema club French Impressions for over 20 years. He’s a tutor in Current Film and Cinema at Morley College and an Associate of the British Film Institute, appointed in 1993. In French Impressions he lends his expert insight and relaxed conversational style to French cinema from across the spectrum and invites you to take part.

This programme includes: a TALK at 1pm-2pm and a SCREENING OF THE FILM at 2.30pm. There is a small break to allow you to get some refreshments before watching the film and there is more time after the film to ask further questions.French Impressions’ season of films includes new and classic french films offering the perfect opportunity to watch and discuss french movies and to understand the context for each film and the filmmakers behind it.
